Requests for Funding
Through the UNCASG Grants program, registered student organizations across the UNC System can request up to $500 in funding for innovative projects or programs on their campus.
Requests should align with the core mission and purpose of UNCASG; funding proposals should align with one of the categories of Campus Innovation, Diversity Initiatives, Voter Mobilization, Sustainability Projects, or UNC System Advocacy.
Applications for funding must be submitted in full no later than two weeks prior to the ASG meeting at which you'd like them to be considered. Note that this is the deadline for a complete application. If your application is submitted on time but is missing information, it cannot be reviewed.
Prior to submitting your application, we encourage you to contact your Campus Liaison to discuss your grant submission. This will assist the Campus Liaison in being able to answer questions on your behalf when the application is reviewed at the Budget and Finance Committee.
Your application must include the following: a summary of why the event or project is needed, how it will benefit the students on your campus, a detailed budget, invoices or receipts supporting your projected costs, the contact information of the staff member responsible for your organization's accounting, the physical address on campus where we need to send the check, your organization's advisor's contact information, a presentation to be shown at the meeting, and your Campus Liaison and advisor's signatures of approval. Failure to provide any of this information renders your application incomplete. Only complete applications are reviewed. The Standing Rules for the Budget and Finance Committee can be viewed here. The Standing Rules were most recently amended at the 2019 November ASG meeting.

Submissions due by 11:59:59pm on the indicated dates.
6 September 2019 to be reviewed at the 13-14 September ASG business meeting*
4 October 2019 to be reviewed at the 18-19 October ASG business meeting
8 November 2019 to be reviewed at the 22-23 November ASG business meeting
10 January 2020 to be reviewed at the 24-25 January ASG business meeting
31 January 2020 to be reviewed at the 14-15 February ASG business meeting
13 March 2020 to be reviewed at the 27-28 March ASG business meeting
*One-time exception to the two week advance submission requirement due to varying start dates for the academic year.
